2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” 3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”.... (She obediently did what she was told) 7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
I was facing my 2nd summer without my husband of 30 years and I was really starting to doubt my ability to make it on my own.
Earlier that year, I had received an invitation to housesit a beach house in Panama. The desire to isolate myself on a beach was not just enticing, it became an unbearable obsession! However, I could not imagine how in the world I was going to make the transition with so many possessions collected and/or inherited. All haunting memories gathering dust, painful to look at but with too much sentimental value to toss out.
Panama was becoming a distant dream and I didn't even have the money to update my passport to just leave it all behind to sit on that beach!
I became ANGRY, HUMILIATED, ISOLATED and DESPERATE.
